Here are some photos of a cool purple Lotus Exige belong to a friend of mine.  I have seen the Elise, Evora and Espirt but they are so rare in Brunei. Lotus is also another brand in Brunei that is not as popular as compared to Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.  There is no Lotus Car Dealer in Brunei as most of these are import used car from either UK, Japan or Singapore.

New Car In Brunei - Porsche Panamera Gen.2 and MINI Countryman Gen.2

I just received two invitations from QAF Brunei for new generations of Porsche and MINI models.  There are the Panamera and Countryman.  All of them will be launching in the month of April and I believe the Porsche invite is probably for private viewing as it come with a token for prizes.  As for the MINI it will be held at MINI Showroom at 7pm, 1st April and should be open for the public.  Go and check it out guys!  I can't wait to check out both cars!

James here just shared these photos of the new Audi A8 at a local car detailer.  This car is the direct competitor to Mercedes Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series.  Audi A8 is a very high-tech machine but sadly we don't see much Audi A8 in Brunei because they are not as popular to compare to S-Class and 7-Series.

The More I Know - Dodge Keyfob by Continental

Recently my Dodge Journey keyfob ran out of battery juice so I opened up the keyfob to check on the battery size and surprised to see the brand "CONTINENTAL" printed on the board.  I didn't know CONTINENTAL manufactured others things then tyres.  So I did a quick online research and found they had been an expert on automotive key for more then 20 years. The more you know people!

Here is the link to Continental Key

Spotted this rare Mitsubishi Evolution IX Wagon at Bandar. This model was officially imported by Mitsubishi G.H.K, the sole agent in Brunei.  If my memories are correct,  I remember 15units came to Brunei from the first shipment and another 10 later on. It cost around BND$68K++ new when it was launched in the early 2000s.

Borneo Kustom Show 2017

Last weekend was the 2nd event for Borneo Kustom Show held at BRIDEX Hall at Jerudong.
And here are some photos shared by Axtel Wong.  Sadly,  I didn't attend the show this year due to family commitment

I read on the paper that this event gotten bigger then the last one.  There are 300 cars and bikes on displayed. Lots and lots of JDM were on full displays ranging from old skools to 1500hp GTR35!  I am glad the show gotten more attention by the public and neighboring country.  Hopefully next year I would be able to attend.

Family Rides - Mercedes Benz S320 "Substitute" Lamp

I was driving my family Mercedes Benz S320 recently and a warning sign just pop out of no where from the central instrument.  It said " TURN SIGNAL L, SUBSTITUTE LAMP ON!"

Obviously one of the turn signal had kaput but what puzzle me is the "SUBSTITUTE LAMP ON!".  I had been driving for more than 20years and had never encounter a substitute lamp when a lamp went busted.

So I stopped the car and put on the emergency lights.  If you see the picture above and the picture below you will understand.  The above pic is showing how the car is using the reverse lights as a substitute for the busted indicator!

If you look at the picture below you can see the differences in the indicator locations.  The left side is using the reverse lights as left indicator.  The one on the right is working fine so it's blinking from its original location.

Here is the busted bulb that I took out from the car and had replaced a new bulb from HuaHo Kiulap.  It cost only BND$3.00
