Car Spotting In Brunei - VW Scirocco 2nd Gen

Hi readers, today I spotted a 2nd Gen VW Scirocco in Gadong Central.  Many of us only knew about the 3rd Gen VW Scirocco but many do not know(incuding me) that 2nd Gen actually exists in Brunei.  The car was manufactured from 1981 till 1992 where it went hiatus till the 3rd Gen arrived in the market in 2008.

The rear of the car first caught my attention thinking it was a old school BMW that I never knew of.  Upon closer inspection I was surprised it was a Roc'.  Judging from the plate you can tell this car came a long long way since the 80s!

D.I.Y Tips - Replacing Brake Pedal Rubber Stopper for Nissan Skyline ER34

Last week,  when I came home from picking up my kids with my Nissan I realised all brake lights weren't shutting down.  I was kinda in a panic mood because I thought some wiring when crazy.

Thanks to the nice people at forum on the web they told me it might be a brake pedal rubber stopper that had broke so I went back to the car and found broken bits and pieces of rubber on the carpet and I am kinda relief it was only a $2.00 rubber stopper.

I drove to a local parts center, A&W Parts, to find the replacement.  Unfortunately they don't have those but the lady boss was kind enough to let me take a set of Nissan Primera brake pedal that still has a good condition brake stopper.

That bright green button is the brake stopper.  How does it work?  Every time you press your brake pedal, the green brake stopper will be push away from the "brake light switch" hence switching on all your brake lights.  When you release you brake pedal, the green brake stopper will return to touching the brake switch again to shut down all the brake lights.

To remove the green brake stopper all you need to do is pour the rubber with hot water for several seconds.  Then use a flat head screw to slowly push it out

Next is to open you lower steering compartment and locate your brake pedal and find the hole similar to this Nissan Primera brake pedal to fit this tiny green brake stopper!

It took me 15mins to finally get the green brake stopper in and now the brake lights is back to normal!

Car Spotting In Brunei - Ferrari 348ts

**Thanks to  #axelwong for the pic
**Credit to the car owner

A friend just spotted this beautiful classic Ferrari 348ts! #axelwong.  In my opinion, modern Ferrari just don't look as good as the Ferrari that comes out during the 80s and 90s.  It is good that someone in Brunei still keep this car in pristine conditions!

This model was produced from 1989 to 1995, till it was replaced by Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (one of my all time favorite Ferrari).  The Ferrari V8 powertrain in this car produced only 300hp. LOL, even my Boxster S has more horses.  It may not sound much today but it was big number during the 80s~90s.

New Car In Brunei - 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

A good friend of mine just took these pictures today and shared with me.  This is the 2015 Chevy Suburban! You don't get too many "full-size" SUV range in Brunei.  The last one I remember was posted way back in 2012, Cadillac Escalade.  In case you didn't know, Cadillac, Corvette, GMC, Holden and Chevrolet all fall under the GM umbrella.

I am not too surprise to see this model here given GHK Motors import records of good old American muscle cars into Brunei market.  I have no idea what spec this car has but I do know one thing, which is the price, it will set you a whooping BND$280K++!

New Car In Brunei - Honda Civic Type R (FK2)

**NOT MY PHOTOS - CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL OWNERS!!!

Lets kick of my first 2016 post with something red!  This is the 4th Gen Honda Civic Type-R and it has landed in Brunei!  Also know as FK2 for the factory insider, this is the very first turbo-charged Type-R from Honda!  It is packed with 310hp going on the front wheels to 100km/hr in 5.7secs!  This particular example surprising is a grey import, not from Happy Motor(official Honda importer of Brunei).  Not sure about the price and you can view this car at DAHA Trading at Beribi next to GHK Motors!
