Car Spotting In Brunei - HKS ZERO R (Nissan Skyline BNR32 GT-R)

This ladies and gentlemen is the famous HKS ZERO-R,  I took these photos personally at SHHProshop last week and this is the first time I am up-close and personal with this unique legendary car from HKS.   The car started out as a Nissan Skyline GTR R32 body shade that had been fully strip, reworked by HKS of Japan which in turn became the HKS ZERO-R.  I believe there are no more than  11 of this exist in the world.  And only a handful(2-4units) was sold.  The remaining unsold units were kept inside HKS garage.

This particular ZERO-R come with 450hp when it was imported new to Brunei. Do not confuse with ZERO-R Ver.2 that HKS revisited and that has +500hp. The almighty RB26DETT in this car came fully modded with HKS catalogue goodies.  I couldn't find the proper details but it was the craziest mod you would want for your GTR R32.

The car is fitted with full aero bodykits that differ from stock.   The most obvious modification is the relocation of fuel tank from the boot to the rear passenger seats! With fully customised tank sitting just behind the driver seats.

This car is awaiting for tuning this week and I was told it will have some serious HP!

"R" emblem steering wheel

Yes that red carpeted box you looking at is the fuel tank

Relocated fuel cap

Sadly the original ZERO-R wheels is no longer fitted in this car.  This set of wheel is from SSR.

Garage of HKS Japan during the early 90s....start drooling!

Servicing My Nissan Skyline ER34

It's that time of the year where I have to service my Number.1 garage queen, Nissan Skyline ER34.  Last service I checked was way back in December 2013.  I only manage to drive this car once a week, sometime once a forthnight.  So is OK to service this late.  I also had other small issues which I also wanted the mechanic to check so pitted the car at SHHProShop at Gadong Central.

Normally I uses SHELL Ultra Helix as my prefered engine oil but this time I gave HKS a try.  This particular oil brand is called HKS Super Racing Oil.  Rated at 10W45 and cost me $80 per tank(4 litres).   The oil viscosity rating is recommended for stock car to lightly tuned cars and is 100% synthetic. I was told by the owner this is their best selling oil in the shop.

The little HKS box is the Hybrid Oil filter.  Cost me around $30 bucks.

I picked up my car the next following day and immediately felt the differences between SHELL Helix Ultra and HKS engine oil.  Can feel the engine is running smoother.  Will stick to this brand of oil for my future ER34 services.

New Car In Brunei - LEXUS RC350

Just went and checked out the LEXUS RC350 for the first time.  I was actually looking forward seeing the RC-F but it was out on test drive.  I was told the price for this particular RC350 is about BND$110K++ whereas RC-F cost BND$155K.  There is only one spec for each of the model.  The car looks pretty handsome in its own right.  Very unique front fascial.  Interior is the usual LEXUS business.  Luxury all round!

Hmm, come to think of it for $110K I can get a pretty high spec BMW 4 Series or a high spec new E-Class Coupe.  Well I think it all goes down to personal perferences.  As for RC-F, it will be the cheapest V8 luxury coupe among the competitions in Brunei.  Sadly, it is also the heaviest and slowest car compared to the M4 and C63.

Car Spotting In Brunei - BMW M3 Coupe (E92)

Spotted this rare and pristine BMW M3 (E92) just behind my workplace a few days ago.  At first glance I thought it was my friend ex-car that I sat in a few years ago but upon closer inspection I noticed this car is fitted with M-DCT transmission.  The one I sat in was fitted with traditional manual transmission.  These is the 4th M3 (E92) that I knew so far.

New Cars In Brunei - 2015 MINI Cooper S JCW

The fastest MINI has landed in Brunei!  This is the JCW Version of the MINI Cooper S.  It is packed with 228hp from the 2.0 litre engine and coupled with the 6-speed automatic that can propel the car from 0-100km/hr in 6.3sec!  The car is still under wrap inside QAF BMW.  Not sure when they will debut the car and I was told this car will cost around 75k to 80k!
